Paint Torch by Claes Oldenburg, August 2010. The sculpture is the artist offering artists a guide to the city of Philadelphia after the original site of the Statue of Liberty was moved to New York. Fabricated using FRP around a steel column with translucent “bristles,” the sculpture attempts to paint the skyline from the alley next to the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art.
