large scale rockwork
Large scale rockwork entailed a digital scan using an Atos laser scanner with close-range photogrammetry by Scan Site Inc., Woodacre, CA, then CAD prepared and milled in large format CNC gantry. CNC machine milled several hundred large EPS foam “molds” for use as CIP forms on site. Coordinated shipping, material size, assembly sequence, and transport constraints for the most economical site work and overall cost.
Digitally scan large-scale maquette provided by the artist, segment into appropriate parts, and CNC mill female EPS foam “forms” for final sculpture, coating, and assembly on-site as CIP (Cast in Place) concrete rockwork.
