Project Description: This gas man stands 36 feet tall in the Nasu Highlands Theme Park. The maquette was laser scanned and enlarged on the computer. One-inch foam slices were cut, stacked and glued in place, and then fiberglass was laid directly over the foam. The surface was sanded and faired, and another thin layer of fiberglass was applied to keep the filler in place. After a final fairing to smooth the surface, it was primed and painted with automotive urethane paint.
