Project Description: This 19-foot diameter Great Seal of the State of California is a fiberglass bas relief sculpture on a steel support frame. The entire seal weighs only 1,280 pounds. FRP composite was the only material capable of producing the desired shape at such a low weight. The weight was critical in this project due to the limited structural support available on the State Building. The finish on the Seal is automotive urethane paint.
