K&A Scope of Work: Design and fabrication of translucent sphere
Project Description: This all-FRP, 8’ diameter translucent sphere serves as the central element of a courtyard water feature at Apple Computer’s Cupertino headquarters. Water is pumped to the top through a central pipe and flows over the outside, falling in a perfect circle into a pond at the base. Interior fiber optic lighting illuminates the translucent sphere which is covered with light blue urethane paint.
