Vanderbyl Design wanted a low cost, lightweight modular system of room dividers. |
| Pacific Design | Pacific Design | SOLUTION: K&A built a curved surface "mold" onto which a sheet of EPS foam was sandwiched between two layers of 1/8" thick birch veneer plywood, held in place with urethane glue. The clamping together of this curved sandwich panel was by vacuum bag. The process allowed one person to fabricate 5 panels per day. The surface was finished with clear epoxy sealer and urethane varnish. |
