K&A Scope of Work: Our customer provided a photo to serve as the basis for low-relief sculpted wall panels at their newest restaurant in El Cerrito, California. Jacque Giuffre' sculpted large clay relief maquettes, which were digitally scanned and used to machine female foam molds. Kastone panels were then cast in to these "one-off" molds. This technique allows small maquettes to be enlarged to virtually any size without the costly intermediate step of fabricating an enlargement to make a mold. K&A's unique "direct to mold" process opens the door to cost effective sculpture on an architectural scale.
Project Description: "Direct to mold" digitally enlarged wall panel molds are used to cast one-of-a-kind architectural wall panels in Kastone material.
