PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (Ensure the following task are implemented upon you presence or absence in the shop):

  • Implement project specific in-process QA/QC inspections based on K&A procedures
  • Develop written record keeping system to monitor quality procedures for each job.
  • Coordinate closely with production and administrative personnel.
  • Assist crew chiefs with timely inspections of work in progress.
  • Create a fully operating QC trailer with all necessary lab equipment.
  • Perform all necessary testing and quality control checks on shop floor as well as in lab.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Perform all materials testing.  Check material upon receiving from purveyor.
  • Attend kick off meetings to determine QA/QC specified for incoming jobs.
  • Be responsible for shop safety compliance.
  • Schedule and facilitate monthly safety meetings.
  • Upgrade safety programs and safety training as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Coordination:

  • Coordinate all QA/QC procedure between crew chiefs and production department.
  • Insure mutual understanding of specific requirements for each project and schedule.
  • Immediately report any deviation from plan to production department.

QC/QA Technician is expected to be become familiar with all aspects of fabricating fiberglass parts.

In addition to these specific tasks the Director of QC/QA Technician is expected to be familiar with and abide by K&A’s employee rules and regulation, including health and safety practices.

Much of the process developed by K&A is considered valuable and proprietary. All employees are expected to honor this and to comply with K&A requirements to protect proprietary and intellectual property.

 

Abilities

  • Ability to create, maintain, and implement basic record keeping.
  • Good technical aptitude.
  • Willingness to learn skills involved in material testing.
  • Demonstrate organizational skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Self starter.
  • Ability to work in both an administrative and production atmosphere as a team member.
  • Familiarity with basic computer software and willingness to stay abreast of relevant emerging technologies.
  • Capability of reading and following architectural and shop drawings.

 

Objectives For First 90 Days at K&A

  • Within the first 30 days, implement incoming material QC testing, written records and identification system.
  • Within the first 30 days, develop written record keeping system to coordinate and monitor quality procedures for all shop projects.
  • Within the first 60 days, have a fully operational lab trailer with written manuals for testing procedures.

 

 Salary Range

$ 35,000-$45,000 DOE
