Condensed Job Description

REPORTING:

  • This position reports to the Production Coordinator.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (Ensure that the following tasks are implemented upon your presence or absence in the shop):

  • Review P&A, contracts, drawings, data files, schedule, and estimate to:
    • Determine exact Scope of Work.
    • Identify work of others.
    • Connection details, smoothness, color, texture, laminate schedule.
    • Determine outsourcing previously considered, and possibly needed.
  • Produce first version working schedule for a given job, specifically allocating man hours, duration, milestones, etc. for each relevant mold, part, or manufacturing process.
  • Discuss, implement, and manage manpower delegations to/from projects.
  • Work hands-on with crew to guide fabrication process.
  • Manages and coordinates outside contractors related to a given project.
  • Identifies additional tools needed for project and give requisition request Production Assistant.
  • Determine percent complete for projects under your supervision on a semi-monthly basis.
  • Perform other duties as required.

AT PROJECT INITIATION:

  • Coordinate and attend Project kickoff meetings.
  • Establish project specific QA/QC procedures based on standard K&A procedures and submit to engineering for review and approval.
  • Determine all material needs for projects, and place order with Production Assistant.

DURING ONGOING PROJECTS:

  • Responsible for all project based client contact, written documentation of relevant correspondences with clients.
  • Provide accounting and Production Coordinator with percent complete.
  • Review job cost reports and manage actual vs. budgeted time and materials.
  • Complete all QA/QC forms and turn in to Production Coordinator.

AT PROJECT TERMINATION:

  • Responsible for crating project goods.
  • Organizes delivery of items; determine and schedule deliveries.

 

Abilities
  • Prior experience in composites manufacturing.
  • Ability to effectively manage labor in a shop environment.
  • Familiarity with Project Scheduling and Management software.
  • Management and leadership skills.
  • Capable of reading and following Architectural and shop drawings.
  • Ability to monitor estimated labor and materials vs. actual, and identify variances.
Objectives For First 90 Days FIRST 30 DAYS (The following must be demonstrated at 30 day review):
  • Learn about our manufacturing process and products.
  • Identify exact Scope of Work of given project.
  • Review pre-production forms and standard QA/QC procedures.
  • Adopt or develop own method for tracking percent complete.

FIRST 60 DAYS:

  • Have complete understanding of inside and outside resources available to accomplish tasks.
  • Successfully identify and request all materials for an upcoming project.
  • Establish client contact for a given project.
  • Supervise and work with crew through an assigned project.

FIRST 90 DAYS:

  • Successfully manage a new project from start to finish.
  • Be responsible for reporting variances in labor/materials and reasons for variances to Production Coordinator.
  • Work with Production Coordinator to achieve monthly revenue targets.
  • Participate in post-production meetings to evaluate project performance.
  • Implement and maintain QA/QC procedures.

 

Starting Salary Range $45,000 for qualified applicant
